919-733-2293, ext. 229, or 1-888-4RCOASTDCM sets up additional field offices in Rodanthe, Hatteras VillageRALEIGH Hatteras Island property owners who suffered damage from Hurricane Isabel can call or visit the N.C. Division of Coastal Managements emergency field offices in Rodanthe and Hatteras Village for assistance with repair and replacement questions. The division has set up an office at the Hatteras Village fire station. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Call 252-337-4400 or 252-264-3901. Coastal Management also has opened an office at the Rodanthe/Avon/Salvo Civic Center, across from the Chicamacomico Coast Guard Station. Its hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 252-987-2575. Both offices will be open for at least the next two weeks. Coastal Management representatives will answer questions about Coastal Area Management Act permits for rebuilding docks, piers, houses and other structures. They also will answer questions about obtaining CAMA permits to rebuild dunes or use sandbags to protect houses from erosion. The division previously set up emergency field offices in Nags Head Town Hall, 5401 S. Croatan Highway (252-441-5508), and Kitty Hawk Town Hall, 101 Veterans Memorial Drive (252-261-3552). Property owners also can call Coastal Managements district office in Elizabeth City at 252-264-3901. ### |
