Note: The above MS Word files are Word 2000 template files (.dot).
They function differently than word document files (.doc) Please read below to find out
where to save the templates. If you save the template files and just open them
directly OR you open the link directly from your web browser (Internet Explorer) you will
not be able to save the edits to the file. You need to save the files to your template
directory.
The typical location for word template files in Word 2000 is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
For other Word versions you can check the file location of the user templates by using
Tools => Options => File Locations (tab). In this window you will see which folder
is designated as the "User Templates Folder."
After the Word template has been saved into the template Directory you can create a
"NEW" document based on the template by selecting from the menu in Word: File
=> New =>"Template Name".
More information on Word templates can be found by using Word's online help index (F1 to
access) and searching for the term "Templates"
