The following steps remain in the Coastal Resources Commission's
effort to revise the CAMA land-use planning guidelines.
August-October 2001
Public hearings on the rules will be held in Raleigh and each of the four regions of the
coast.
October
The CRC could vote on the new planning rules. If the rules are approved, the
moratorium on CAMA land-use planning will be lifted.
The Secretary of DENR will decide whether to adopt the proposed funding guidelines.
November 2001-March 2002
Planning and funding rules go before the state Rules Review Commission.
May-July 2002
Rules sit before the General Assembly.
August 2002
New land-use planning guidelines take effect. |
