CAMA Rules & Policies :: Rules Taking Effect in 2002

The following CAMA rules are scheduled to take effect in August, following review by the General Assembly.

  • Amendments to Vegetation Line Determination Prior to Beach Nourishment Projects (7H.0305). Fact sheet.

  • Exceptions to 30-foot Buffer for Small Lots and Common Non-Water-Dependent Uses (7H.0209) . Fact sheet. (Note: The buffer exceptions are in effect as temporary rules. The temporary rules will expire in August when the permanent version takes effect.)

  • Amendments to Oceanfront Setback Exceptions (7H.0309). Fact sheet. Note: A bill introduced in the state House would disapprove these changes. The Division of Coastal Management is negotiating with the bill’s sponsor on substitute legislation that would allow the continued construction of swimming pools in the setback zone, but would let the remaining changes to 7H.0309 take effect.

  • CAMA Permit Exemption for Single-Family Residences Located Solely in the High-Hazard Flood Area of Environmental Concern (7K.0213). Fact sheet.

  • Amendments to Beach Bulldozing Minor Permit, Development Period Extension and Definition of Substantial Development (7J .0403 & 7J .0404);

  • Sandbag Use Extension for Communities Pursuing Beach Nourishment Projects (7H .0308 & 7H .1705, in PDF format; requires Adobe Acrobat Reader). (Note: The CRC passed these as temporary rules last year. The temporary rules will expire when the permanent version takes effect.)
