This database is meant for informational purposes only and is meant only to indicate an estimated acreage of restored and created wetlands and SAV beds, although every attempt has been made to include accurate and complete information. All permit requirements and conditions are handled by the agencies issuing permits for wetland impacts and this database has no regulatory standing. All indications of "success" are subjective and are the result of personal contacts with site owners, regulatory agency personnel and persons performing research or collecting monitoring data on the sites. Most of these sites are protected and are not generally open to the public, although some of them may be. If you know of sites in the coastal counties of North Carolina that do not appear to be included in this database, please let us know so that we may include them.
