North Carolina Wetlands Partnership LAND MANAGEMENT WORKGROUP The Land Management Workgroup addresses
on-the-ground management issues, such as monitoring and boundary maintenance. It also
handles real estate issues, like conservation easements and fiscal, management and tax
issues. The workgroup initially focused on the development of a GIS data layer to provide
an inventory of all conservation lands within North Carolina. This has involved
establishing a clearinghouse for land management information, gathering Geographic
Positioning System (GPS) locations of conservation lands, and selecting an information
format that would be understandable and available to all partners. |
